The first indication there was a problem was a new name popping up on the list of players. I had set up a line of ATV pickets around my base but I never saw what happened to my picket unit. Its brave sacrifice was noted only by a tiny light going out on my minimap. But he had done his job. The incoming force was a small group of lightning tanks backed by a much larger force of long-range rocket launchers and they were two minutes out.

My base was reasonably well guarded by laser towers and I had a small force of Lancet Tanks I had bought from Tahh Mahtahh as well as a few Heavy Tanks armed with powerful Beam Cannons. If I could get lucky and punch through the front line of lightning tanks, they would make short work of the rocket launchers before the rockets could destroy my base. Initially my tanks were out of position, so by the time they could be brought to bear, the lightning tanks were already within range of the laser towers' beams.

With the tanks nearly in position, things were looking hopeful until the alarm sounded and the voice came over the command channel "fuel-air missile launch detected." Uh-oh. Despite the pounding I knew they would take, I moved my tanks in closer to the lightning tanks hoping the plan wasn't to sacrifice them as the rocket launchers came into range. The flash came moments later.

Brilliant white. The world shook and the battlefield was wreathed in smoke while my base burned.

[Fuel-air missile attack.]

But fortune smiled upon me. My generators and laser towers were undamaged.

With my defenses intact my tanks made quick work of the tip of the spear. When the smoke cleared I went looking for the rocket launchers, but they had snuck off back into the dark.

That was awesome! Totally why I made The Imperial Realm::Miranda.

The Othersiders - War Story

Well, my name is Sisk Dread (Zen Dreads son) although i am nothing like him i still share his point of view. We were the true clan of this world, we owned the city before the empire scum had ruined it for us. We now have to live within the stars in spaceships because of the loss of the army that we once possessed, And we want it all back! For years now my father had been dreaming of this day to come, by turning the snowy wasteland back into the warm lava planet that it used to be.

Pushing onto the day that was the battle, firstly one of the empires unknown, undercover leaders Sir Basler was commanding his force near the capital which we knew that if we took it out then the capital would be ours again.

We had to get parts for the army meaning that we had to get into the vendor. Arriving at the vendor we could taste coldness of the air, the crunch, crunch, crunch underneath my feet, the snowy air placing itself upon my cheeks, we finally got into the building. My father (also known as the evil one by the common chatter of the empire) walked up to the vendor and demanded that he would give us parts to assemble an army and defeat Sir Basler in battle. The Vendor denied, my father beat him to a crisp and eventually he settled. The troops that we assembled were fearful as they were untrained in battle against the big commander Sir Basler. Although we knew this my father had kept 1 missile silo on his ship waiting for the day that we would get revenge, so even with a force like this one we knew that we could cause some damage.

We approached near the dark wasteland that was Sir Baslers Base. Tanks were heading towards his base, little did we know the scouts that Sir Basler had left around his base that we were destroying allowed him to prepare for the battle that was to come. Getting closer and closer and closer to his base we launched the missile silo. The missile had hit and the clouds of snow and fire went everywhere, tanks engaged, "Push!" lighting tanks were striking, missiles were flying, Dust clouds were forming, (little did we know Baslers defences were further across than we knew) Because of this are forces were being numbered. The powerful defences were beaming down upon us one by one. By now we knew this was a battle we were not going to win, out of no where my father beamed the army up to the ship leaving Sir Basler questioning to himself "What just happened?" All we knew is that we were going to be back one day. Maybe not tomorrow or the next day but one day.

Thanks to everyone who played including Robert Basler for making this awesome idea of a game.

Awesome story, it's too bad I have not been able to get into any combat during the weekend.

When the servers first opened it was past midnight so I could not join in on the first day. I've logged in several times during the two days that followed by except for Robert himself I have not seen any other players.

The game crashed about every 10 minutes (the bigger my army the more it started crashing), but what I've seen so far it's pretty great.

I have of course filled in the survey.

Thank you Dondergod (i was getting crashing also but not as much as some others) The next test weekend hopefully should be a little more stable and you will be able to get a slightly better experience.
Personally if the crashes are patched and a few extra things are added i think this would be my fav game.

Hmm, I wonder if Miranda fan fiction is going to be a thing? I've pushed the next test weekend out a week so I have more time to work on all the bugs people found. I'm also going to start it at noon Pacific time on Friday so that everyone in Europe doesn't have to stay up quite so late (one guy was playing at 5am - I didn't ask him if he was just an early-riser.)

While I didn't get to play much, I still enjoyed testing it out! I look forward to Playing it again for the next test weekend! I'll have to re-setup my blanket fort to play, since I don't have the other two.

Hey Rob,

If you already had a key last time, you can simply keep using that one? Or do I need to request a new one?

I didn't remove any keys, and if you got into game your account will still be just as you left it.
